<p>Rose McGowan was in the studio today with filmmaker Daniel Farrands to talk about the hit horror film <a title="IMDB page" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117571/" target="_blank">Scream!</a> No stranger to Loyal Studios, Daniel Farrands has been with us before to document the Wes Craven series Nightmare on Elmstreet.  Farrand has become the modern day historian and documentarian of horror films and the people involved with them.  With this project he tackles another Wes Craven production to dig deeper into the making of the horror classic.</p>
<p><a title="IMDB page" href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0268107/" target="_blank">Farrands</a> is a successful documentary producer known for his horror film subject matter.  Past projects include:  <em>Never Sleep Again:  The Elm Street Legacy</em>, <em>The Fear is Real:  Reinvestigating the Haunting (in Connecticut)</em> and <em>His Name was Jason:  Thirty Years of Friday the 13th.</em> This will be Farrands&#8217; second Wes Craven documentation, but surely not his last.</p>
<p>What is especially exciting about this particular production is that it took place in our brand new Burbank facility.  So you might say that ravishing Rose has christened the new studio with her presence.  What better way for a new studio to lose its virginity than from a woman such as Rose.  We wouldn&#8217;t want it any other way.</p>

Ever since General Motors pulled the plug on the electric car the nation has been clamoring for increased fuel efficiency, much to the chagrin of the big three automakers and countless petroleum companies.  But the return of the electric car is once again upon us and <a title="Plug In America site" href="http://www.pluginamerica.org" target="_blank">PlugInAmerica.org</a> is there to launch a new campaign to educate consumers on the merits of electric powered vehicles.</p>

<p>The campaign of public service announcements (PSAs) was produced at <a title="Loyal Studios Home Page" href="http://www.loyalstudios.tv" target="_self">Loyal Studios/Santa Monica</a> with a crew of passionate volunteers determined to re-educate the public and raise awareness of alternative fuel vehicles.  In addition to the three very witty, insightful spots the folks at PluginAmerica.org also produced a <a title="Making of PlugInAmerica PSAs" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbCh1bQbkRA" target="_blank"><em>Making Of</em></a> video that is filled with interviews and  information, as well as the inner workings of our very own Loyal Studios.</p>
<p>But best of all, in addition to the RAV4-EV vehicle that was at the studio, we had a couple of Teslas on site for those who participated in the project to take rides in.  What an amazing demonstration of the capability of electric power!  Tesla is the prime example of what is possible.  Best of all, electric cars don&#8217;t have to be boring, slow or limiting.</p>

<p>Packed with mini subwoofers that intensify the extreme bass punctuation of rap&#8217;s signature style, these paisley adorned headphones will blow your mind.</p>
<p>Snoop&#8217;s always been a big fan of Skullcandy and the opportunity to partner with the organization to design his own artist series was just too good to pass up.</p>
<p>To complete the package Snoop brought the advertising world into Loyal Studios Santa Monica to produce the promotion.  No stranger to our westside location, Snoop Dogg last worked in our studio on his video with Young Dre promoting <a title="EA Fight Night IV" href="http://fightnight.easports.com/home.action" target="_blank">&#8220;Fight Night IV&#8221;</a> in a remix of <a title="Cheah Bah/Fight Night IV" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zg5voIdOzuk&amp;feature=related" target="_blank">Cheah Bah</a>.  Props to Snoop and his crew for exemplifying what we believe in most:  loyalty.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a title="AFV Home Page" href="http://abcfamily.go.com/shows/americas-funniest-home-videos" target="_blank">AFV</a> (aka America&#8217;s Funniest Videos) was in the studio with Tom Bergeron to promote the show.  True to form Mr. Bergeron was nothing but gracious and quite humorous.  Despite predictions from the crew there were no embarrassing moments or clutsy moves that would warrant submission to the show for the $10,000 prize.  Cameras were poised around the studio just in case.</p>

<p><a title="VH1 website" href="http://www.vh1.com" target="_blank">VH-1</a>&#8216;s hit show <a title="Family Business website" href="http://www.vh1.com/shows/a_family_business/series.jhtml" target="_blank">&#8220;Family Business&#8221;</a> was in the studio to shoot some interview clips with co-stars Brandy and Ray J.  Produced by Loyal client 51 Minds, the young stars brought their panache to the new studio to class up the joint.  The appearance by the couple has contributed to the astronomical success of the opening of the Burbank facility.</p>

<p>ProHD Rentals and <a title="Loyal Studios" href="http://www.loyalstudios.tv" target="_self">Loyal Studios</a> are proud to announce the grand opening of the new, state-of-the-art, pre-lit stage in Burbank, California.  This exciting new stage addresses the needs of digital production, creating a facility that caters to the rapidly evolving technology.</p>
<p>Owner and President <a href="http://www.bobbekian.com" target="_blank">Bob Bekian</a> has been surveying his clients over the years to learn the likes and dislikes that production companies have encountered with stages in the past.  Building from these critical observations, Bekian set out to create a space that speaks directly to the digital industry.</p>
<p>Starting with Loyal&#8217;s signature pre-lit green screen, the new studio now has incorporated an over-coved, hard cyc to address low angle shots that often complicate post work due to the additional clean-up that has to be done to remove green screen frames and supporting stands.  The new studio has also wired the stage for cameras and feeds, placing the wiring inside the walls to reduce cable clutter on the floor.  Not only does this provide a safer work environment, but it also expedites camera movement and re-positioning.  The studio is also set-up to provide a multi-look workspace for greater efficiency of shooting environments and less strenuous budget demands.  There is a New York, bricked store front, that doubles as a sound-proofed, separate client viewing area.  There is an over-coved white cyc, as well, that is useful for still shoots, publicity shots and a clean limbo environment.  Finally, there is a 50 seat diner within the facility that can accommodate caterers, dining, food stylists and also be used as a location.</p>
<p>In addition to the multi-purposed work space, Loyal Studios&#8217; new stage is conveniently situated next door to its sister company ProHD Rentals, where you can find all your camera, grip, lighting, audio and data storage needs met.  ProHD has jib arms, micro dollies, DSLR Canon 5Ds, HD cameras, SD cameras, media drives, media cards, additional lights, microphones, lavs, you name it!  It&#8217;s all right there, just a stone&#8217;s throw away.</p>

<p><a title="Loyal Studios site" href="http://www.loyalstudios.tv" target="_self">Loyal Studios</a> has long established itself as a  niche green screen stage, facilitating the needs of producers  challenged by receding budgets and the technological demands of the new  media revolution. Over the years, Loyal’s two stages &#8211; one in Burbank  and the other in Santa Monica &#8211; have provided personalized service to a  variety of new media and reality productions. In that time the studio’s  owner <a title="Bob Bekian site" href="http://www.bobbekian.com" target="_blank">Bob Bekian</a> has listened carefully to the feedback from industry  craftsmen as equipment and standards have changed. “We are building a  facility that addresses the changing landscape of production,” he  explains. “As technology changes, so must the studios,” Bekian adds.  “Which is why this state-of-the-art, pre-lit green screen stage will  resonate with digital media creatives.”</p>
<p>The new stage addresses a myriad of  challenges that often confront production work. The facility will  contain a pre-lit, green screen cyc with an over cove. “Often times I  see the crew struggling to build a patchwork of green screen frames for a  low angle shot,” says Alex Derhakopian, stage manager at Loyal. “So the  new stage will have a built-in green over-cove to make the composition  work easier in the future.” HD wiring will be built into the walls with  input ports throughout the stage to reduce cable clutter on the stage  floor. Flat screen monitors throughout the building will provide real  time feeds of what is being shot on stage. The main stage will also have  an over-coved two walled, white cyc for table top and stills shoots, as  well as a New York Street scene complete with a shop window and door  for quick location work. But the chameleon charm of the space doesn’t  stop there.</p>
<p>The entire facility is designed to be  multi-functional, where every inch of space can double as an on-camera  set. There is a commercial kitchen with a dining area that seats fifty  people that also works as a diner set. There is a client/production area  that doubles as a school playground. The V.I.P. area includes a red  carpet photo-op space to provide accompanying publicity stills. “Even  the reception area will be available to shoot,” explains Bekian.  “because I want to give producers the most bang for their buck.” This  all-in-one customer service concept has great appeal for producers who are trying to maximize  their budgets as Eric Stoft, a freelance, direct response producer  explains. “In one project we might need a testimonial in limbo, a  tabletop product shot, and a product demonstration in environment. If I  can get that all in one place I can save thousands of dollars.”</p>
<p>Loyal Studios worked diligently with industry professionals to address  the many challenges that can arise on the set. In addition to the  technical considerations, the studio also surveyed past producers to  maximize the usage experience in the new stage. Bekian believes he will  have accomplished this. The new studio opens November 1, 2010 in  Burbank, California.</p>

<p>ProHD Rentals Burbank studio was graced with an appearance by Dr. Drew.  The famous doctor, popularized by <a title="KROQ" href="http://kroq.radio.com/" target="_blank">KROQ&#8217;s</a> night time teen advice show entitled &#8220;<a title="Love Line" href="http://kroq.radio.com/shows/loveline-with-dr-drew/" target="_blank">Love Line</a>,&#8221; made a house call to our Burbank studio.  Despite vicious rumors, Dr. Drew was not in the house to give advice to the employees of ProHD Rentals regarding their sexually repressed feelings about high definition equipment, but rather to shoot some pick-ups for his popular cable program, <a title="MTV's &quot;Teen Mom&quot;" href="http://www.mtv.com/shows/teen_mom/season_2/series.jhtml" target="_blank">Teen Mom</a>.</p>
<p>The doctor was kind enough to forego any comments regarding the vast assortment of long lenses and boom poles that ProHD has to offer its customers.  Today&#8217;s performance was strictly for the teen moms of his show and audience.  By the way, all our <a title="ProHD lenses" href="http://prohdrentals.com/5t0r3/index.php/lenses.html" target="_self">lenses</a> come with covers for safe digital production.</p>

<p>Today&#8217;s featured shoot at our sister company Loyal Studios is a Crest commercial for the good people with the bright smiles in South America.  No longer are pearly whites limited to North America.  Procter &amp; Gamble is putting bright white smiles on faces all across South America and doing so, in part, with the help of ProHD Rentals and Loyal Studios.</p>
<p>Now that&#8217;s something to smile about.</p>
