Sadly, breast cancer is not limited to just women in the United States. It is a global problem that needs global awareness. Loyal Studios/Santa Monica hosts the National Film Board of Canada for some interviews with breast cancer survivors for their latest documentary directed by Léa Pool. The project, with a working title of Pink is being produced by acclaimed documentary producer and member of the NFBC, Ravida Din. The crew was fresh from the Bay Area where they had just spent the weekend covering the Avon walk in the San Francisco.
The frequency of cancer is growing, especially in women and awareness is critical in early detection. Avon sponsors breast cancer walks in a myriad of cities, including Santa Barbara, Chicago, New York, Charlotte, Houston, Washington, D.C. and Boston among other locations. As their slogan says, they are “IN IT TO END IT.” ProHD Rentals and Loyal Studios are proud to be part of something so important as educational film making that addresses such important issues as breast cancer, as well as to participate in a project funded by the National Film Board of Canada.
